  • August 6 - Brian Epstein hold a press conference in New York to apologize for John's Jesus comments.
  • August 8 - Eleanor Rigby/Yellow Submarine single released in the US.
  • August 8 - US LP release of Revolver.
  • August 11 - World Tour Continues. John has a press conference to apologize for Jesus statement.
  • August 13 - American radio station KLUE in Longview, Texas organizes a public "Beatles bonfire." The next morning the radio station is taken off the air when a lightning bolt hit the tower.
  • August 14 - Concert: Lakefront Stadium, Clevelad, Ohio.
  • August 28 - Final Beatles concert in Candlestick Park, San Francisco, California.
