• Unknown - Ringo nearly dies from severe intestinal problems, but has an operation in Monte Carlo.
• April 27 - Former Beatles manager Allen Klein is found guilty of tax evasion in New York and is sent to prison.

• May 19 - Paul George and Ringo reunite for a jam session at the wedding of Eric Clapton and George's ex-wife Pattie Boyd.

• November 28 - Ringo's house in Hollwood Hills burns down. All his Beatles mementoes are destroyed.

• December 29 - Wings play at Odeon, Hammersmith for Kampuchean refugees and UNICEF. He also gets together several musicians to form Rockestra for three songs.
