The Beatles appeared on Blackpool Night Out, the summer edition of Big Night Out. It was broadcast live on all ITV stations by ABC Television from 8:25 and 9:25 PM. The show was hosted by comedians and brothers Mike and Bernie Winters. Also guesting of that episode, other than The Beatles, were Chita Rivera, Frank Berry, Jimmy Edwards, and Lionel Blair. The previous day, The Beatles had flown up to Blackpool and spent all day before the program broadcast rehearsing. They performed five songs: A Hard Day's Night, And I Love Her, If I Fell, Things We Said Today, and Long Tall Sally. Besides this, the performed in some comedt sketches, including one where John, Paul, and George, along with Mike and Bernie Winters perform a medical operation on Ringo. In another sketch, they were refuse collectors.
