Short description The Beatles appear on Pops and Lenny.
Location Television Theatre, Shepherd's Bush Green, London

This was The Beatles' second appearance on national BBC TV on the children's show Pops And Lenny, broadcast live in front of an audience. The show, as the name suggests, mixed pop music with a puppet named Lenny the Lion ("Oh don't embawass me"), manipulated by cohort Terry Hall. The band arrived at Television Theatre for a 1:30 PM rehearsal and performed two songs in the 5:00 to 5:30 PM program. They played From Me To You and a shortened (1 minute and five second) version of Please Please Me. They also joined resident musicians the Bert Hayes Octet and other members of the cast - Terry Hall, The Raindrops, Patsy Ann Noble, and Lenny the Lion - for the finale, a one-minute version of After You've Gone, a Creamer/Layton standard written in 1929.
