| Short description | The Beatles tape an appearance on Thank Your Lucky Stars. |
| Location | Teddington Studio Centre, Teddington |
The Beatles visited Teddington Studio Centre this afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. They came to rehearse, and then videotape, without an audience, their contribution to the following Saturday's (November 21, 5:50 to 6:35 PM) edition of Thank Your Lucky Stars. They lip-synched to four different songs: I Feel Fine, She's A Woman, I'm A Loser, and Rock And Roll Music. Having The Beatles back on the show was such a big deal that ABC executives decided to rename this edition "Lucky Stars Special," because of The Beatles. Besides performing, The Beatles also participated in an opening skit where Ringo pulled a cord to lift the covering from a nearby statue after giving a short speech. This statue turned out to be the real-life show host Brian Matthew, who the introduced the first act. The Beatles appeared again right before the program's only commercial break, to give the thumbs-up when Matthew announced they would play in Part Two of the program, after which they draped the cover back over Matthew.
