Bob Molyneux

Bob Molyneux is a retired policeman who was responsible for recording the Quarry Men on July 6, 1957 at St. Peter's Parish Church in Woolton, Liverpool. He was a member of St Peter's Youth Club. On September 15, 1994, he sold the tape at a Sotheby's auction for the sum of £78,500 to EMI. In reference to listening to the performances captured on the tape, Molyneux stated, "They still give me goose pimples after 37 years" (Reuters, Sept 15 '94).
