| Short description | Johnny and The Moondogs appear in the local finals for Carroll Levis' TV Star Search. (Sometime between October 26 and October 31) |
| Location | Empire Theatre, Liverpool |
The local finals for Carroll Levis' "TV Star Search" took place throughout this week at the Empire Theatre. Johnny and The Moondogs are known to have performed twice during this week, but the exact dates are not known. They, however, did not win. The grand prize went to The Connaughts, who, ironically, were the same group that won the year before, albeit under a different name, The Sunnyside Skiffle Group with Nicky Cuff. Despite not winning the contest, Johnny and The Moondogs were placed high enough to qualify for the final auditions, which were to be held at the Hippodrome Theatre in Manchester. Qualifying for this TV show would guarantee a brief spot on Levis's ATV show, which would allegedly lead to fame for all the groups participating.
