[edit] Recording
It was recorded on February 11 (See Recording Session - February 11, 1963) when most of the album Please Please Me was recorded. The song had been a minor hit in Britain for Little Eva's backing group, The Cookies. Even though it was featured on their first album, they only played it live for a short time, until they had more songs of their own. Four takes of the song were recorded, though Take One was considered to be the best. George Harrison sang lead vocals, the first of two songs on Please Please Me for George to do so. John played his harmonica overdubs.
