| Short description | Editing for the film Magical Mystery Tour begins. |
| Location | Norman's Film Productions, Old Compton Street, London |
The Beatles, assuming the editing would take about a week, booked time at the Norman's Film Productions office in Soho, so Roy Benson could edit the film Magical Mystery Tour, which they had recently finished. This editing process was always supervised by at least one Beatle, sometimes with even all four Beatles supervising. Supposedly, Paul would insist on cutting a scene in a certain way, and then John would recut it the way he wanted it, slowing the process down to eleven weeks. Editing on each day typically lasted between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, often with The Beatls leaving to record at EMI afterwards. During this editing stage, around ten hours of film were cut down to just fifty-two minutes, cutting entire scenes out in the process. Also left out were unusual ideas, such as footage of the band Traffic performing "Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush" randomly inserted into the film. Some recording was done at this facility, too, such as John's narration for certain scenes, which was taped sometime between this date and November.
