On this session, George grabbed Billy Preston, who was working in Apple Studios also at the time, and asked him if he wanted to record with The Beatles. They had known Preston since he was performing in Little Richard's band at The Star Club in 1962. Since then, Preston sat in on almost all Get Back sessions and was paid 500 pounds for his work on the album. George would later produce Peston's first solo album. George, who had seen Preston play the London Palladium the previous night, recalled, "I just grabbed him and brought him down to the studio to play." This proved to be a wise decision, as he helped the group deal with each other. As George recalled, "When Billy got on the piano, there was straight away a 100% improvement in the vibe in the room. Billy didn’t know all the politics and the games that had been going on, so in his innocence, he got stuck in and gave a little kick to the band." Also significant about this session was it was the first one at Apple Studios as 3 Savile Row. The "I Dig A Pygmy" speech clip included on LP recorded during that session. May bootlegs mislabel these recordings as taking place on January 21, 1969.
