How High The Moon is a 1940 song written by Nancy Hamilton and Morgan Lewis. The Beatles, influenced by Les Paul and Mary Ford's 1951 cover, covered it live from 1960 to 1961. No recording of The Beatles playing it exists. Paul McCartney claimed during the filming of "Les Paul: Chasing Sound" that How High The Moon was the first song The Beatles ever played at The Cavern Club.
