Short description John Lennon filming for How I Won The War.
Location Carboneras, Spain

Much of How I Won The War was filmed in hot, dusty southern Spain, opposite the damp, cold climate of northern Germany that earlier filming took place in. John later admitted that he found his seven weeks in Spain boring, especially considering what a minor role Lennon played in the film. Filming began early in the day and there was little for Lennon to do in the evening. Mainly, he sat in his uncomfortable rented house in Santa Isabel, near Almeria, conversing, playing games, and songwriting. It was here that he wrote Strawberry Fields Forever. On November 6, all location shooting was finished and all else that was filmed was some filming in and around London. John Lennon was not involved in this filming. He did later record post-production voice dubbing on February 11, 1967. He flew back to England from Madrid on November 7. He would meet Yoko Ono two nights afterward.
