Short description John appears with The Plastic Ono Band on "Top Of The Pops."
Location Studio Eight, Television Center, London

After The Beatles had appeared on the program on June 16, 1966, John appeared on Top Of The Pops as a solo performer, the first Beatle to do so. The Plastic Ono Band was depicted in this program as having John on piano, Klaus Voorman on bass, an unknown bass and tambourine player, Alan White on drums, Yoko on blindfolded knitting an card-holding, and Mal Evans on tambourine. Even though they appeared in front of an audience, the program was taped and not broadcast live until the next night from 7:15 to 8:00 PM. They rehearsed on this date beginning at 3:30 PM, with taping from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. Two versions were taped, each with John singing a new lead vocal, the second of which was first broadcast on February 19 from 7:15 to 8:00 PM.
