Jolly What! The Beatles and Frank Ifield On Stage is released in the US. The compilation was made to get Vee-Jay money during the era when Capitol was starting to use the rights to the Beatles' songs, and the were getting much more commercially successful. The album was somewhat of a cheap compilation, however. It only contained four Beatles songs, all previously released, all studio recorded. The only thing that might possibly lead one to believe that the compilation was legitimately live was the fact that The Beatles and Frank Ifield performed together once, over a year before the album's release.
