Original Version
Little Eva released a version of this son in 1962, as her follow-up single to The Loco-Motion.
The Beatles' Version
The only recorded version by The Beatles is from an edition of Saturday Club from January 22, 1963, recorded at the BBC's Playhouse Theatre (See Recording Saturday Club - January 22, 1963). It was broadcast four days later. This recording was featured on the 1994 collection Live at the BBC, making it the oldest recording on the collection. For some reason, however, the song was remixed so that there would be a drums-only intro which was not from the original broadcast. Though the BBC version is the only recording known, it was performed live occasionally, most notably during the February 1963 Britih tour. There is speculation that it was recorded on the February 11, 1963 recording session that saw the recording of most of Please Please Me (See Recording Session - February 11, 1963). George Harrison recalls, "We might have run through Keep Your Hands Off My Baby, Little Eva's follow-up to The Loco-Motion, at that session. Sometimes we learnt songs and did them once or twice and then gave them up." Though it is not in the EMI records as being recorded, a February 22 edition of New Musical Express says that this song was indeed recorded at this session. Because of this, it is rumored that a studio version was taped. However, even if it was taped, there is reason to believe that it may not exist anymore, anyway, because half of the session tapes from that day were destroyed.
