Klaus Voorman, artist and musician who was associated with The Beatles since they played concerts in Hamburg before they were famous, taking many of the famous early pictures of them, is released from his contract with NEMS, Brian Epstein's company by Epstein himself. This allows him to join Manfred Mann as the bass player.
