The Beatles played in Grosvenor Ballroom, Wallasey on June 4, 1960. The evening, advertised as a "big beat" night at the ballroom owned by Les Dodd, promised that people would see "this new all-star outfit in a swing session." Despite this, many of the audience members decided to start fighting. The Beatles played on despite this.
