Short description Performance at Nya Aulan, Karlstad, Sweden.
Location Nya Aulan, Sundsta Laroverk, Sundstavagen, Karlstad, Sweden

The Beatles kicked off their 130-pound-a-night Swedish tour, unusually, by playing a secondary school. They played two houses here, one at 7:00 and one at 9:00 PM. Despite screaming fans, one person in the audience, "Johnny" from the local Karlstad newspaper Nya Wermlands Tidning, was not impressed. He thought The Beatles were terrible, their music corny, and their playing out of rhythm, saying that they should have been grateful the fans' screaming drowned out their terrible performance. He finished by saying that they were of no musical importance and that their local support group, The Phantoms, played much better than they did.
