| Short description | Performances at the Cavern Club, and then Thistle Cafe. |
| Location | Liverpool and Cheshire |
The Thistle Cafe booking was the first that Brian Epstein charged a commission. The venue was a dance instruction hall, behind and above the cafe in a village by the River Dee, about ten miles away from Liverpool. Beat groups did not normally play at this venue, so Brian convinced the lessor of the club to call it "The Beatle Club." Despite this, The Beatles did not play there again. The Beatles were paid eighteen pounds. However, Brian charged a ten percent due to petrol, oil, and other costs related to the gig.
