The Beatles would play Students' Union dances at Liverpool College of Art in Spring 1960, John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe's last year there. Because The Beatles did not have decent amplifiers, the Union provided them with some, provided that they never leave the school. They did, however, and were used sporadically by The Beatles until 1962.
