| Location | England |
The first UK release of The Beatles' first single, Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You, which made it to number seventeen in the UK charts. Rumors said that Brian Epstein bought 10,000 copies just to make the single chart well. This may or may not be true, but sales were good, especially in the Liverpool area. Original copies contained the version with Ringo Starr drumming. Later, in 1963, EMI compiled an EP called The Beatles' Hits. When this EP was being made, EMI decided the version with Andy White's drumming was better, so they included it and destroyed the master tapes of Ringo's version. After that, all copies of the single contained Andy White's drumming.
