Short description Mixing Session. Songs Mixed: Happiness Is A Warm Gun, What's The New Mary Jane, Glass Onion, Glass Onion sound effects tape and I Will.
Location Abbey Road Studios

During this 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM mixing session, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, What's The New Mary Jane, Glass Onion, and I Will were mixed into mono to be given to George Martin upon his return from his vacation. John had found that he was not satisfied with the mix of Glass Onion, so he compiled an unusual four-track tape of sound effects, including a ringing telephone, an organ note, BBC soccer commentator Kenneth Wolstenholme shouting "It's a goal!," and the sound of a window shattering. Despite John effort's this two-minute-thirty-five-second tape was not used at all, as George Martin suggested upon his return that the song instead be overdubbed with strings. A portion of this sound effect tape was included on a mix of Glass Onion, which was included on Anthology 3.
