Paul McCartney made a solo appearance on the Rediffusion television show The Frost Programme, taped in front of a studio audience from 6:00 and 7:00 PM and transmitted the same day between 10:30 and 11:15 PM. Another guest in this edition was singer Blossom Dearie. Paul appeared in the first half of the show, mostly defending Magical Mystery Tour from what the TV critics said of the film. Paul tried to explain The Beatles' motives, ideals, and current direction. He also answered questions about topics such as war, humans, responsibility, and money.
