Recording for Ringo's debut solo LP, Sentimental Journey, was concluded in a two-day session at Morgan Studios, where Paul McCartney had also secretly been recording. Two songs were recorded in this session, both of which a 36-piece orchestra was used, with each song being conducted by its arranger. The first song was Whispering Glass, arranged by Ron Goodwin, and the second was Bye Bye Blackbird, a 1926 song popularised by Eddie Cantor and newly arranged by Maurice Gibb, member of the Bee Gees. Ringo's vocals were overdubbed, completing this 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM session.
