Short description Recording Session. Songs Recorded: Got To Get You Into My Life and Love You To.
Location Abbey Road Studios

Two sessions took place on this date. The first, a 2:30 to 7:00 PM session saw George overdubbing guitars onto Got To Get You Into My Life and recording the first three takes of Love You To. At this point, Love You To was untitled, but would soon assume the name Granny Smith. It would not become Love You To until shortly before the album's release. The recording became more complex with every take. The next session, from 8:00 PM to 12:45 AM saw the recording of the next three takes of Love You To. The sixth was considered best. It included acoustic guitar and guide vocal by George, bass by Paul, and overdubs of sitar and tabla. Anil Bhagwat was listed as the tabla player on the Revolver cover, but nobody was credited with playing sitar. It is possible that this may have been George, though newly discovered studio documents suggest that, like Bhagwat, someone from the Asian Music Circle in north London (founded by George's friend Ayana Deva Angadi) played the sitar. A rough mono mix was produced from 12:45 and 1:00 AM and George took a copy with him.
