A 2:30 to 10:30 PM session. From 2:30 to 7:30 PM, The Beatles recorded sixteen takes of the basic track for Because, featuring George Martin on harpsichord, John on electric guitar, and Paul on bass. Ringo played a rhythm on hihat for guide purposes, though it was not recorded. From 7:30 to 10:30 PM, John, Paul, and George recorded the first part of the harmony vocals onto Take 16. The vocals would be recorded three times to simulate more voices. In this session, they only recorded them once, leaving the rest of the vocals to be recorded on August 4.
