| Location | Abbey Road Studios |
Because Ringo was appearing live on the TV show Cilla (See Ringo on Cilla - February 6, 1968), only three of the four Beatles attended this session. The first part of the session was from 2:30 to 8:00 PM, with the second part at 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, suggesting they stopped to watch Ringo's live TV appearance from 8:00 to 8:50. George recorded his vocals for The Inner Light onto a backing track recorded in Bombay. After this, it was mixed into mono. Durng the second session, they completed Lady Madonna. Paul overdubbed his lead vocal, another piano part, handclaps and backing vocals. John and George did a brass imitation for the middle eight of the song, and, at the last minute, a four-man brass section were brought in. Harry Klein and Bill Jackman played baritone sax while Ronnie Scott and Bill Povey player tenor sax. The song was mixedinto mono before the session ended.
