Short description George, with a group of local musicians, recorded the instrumental basic tracks for The Inner Light.

At this time, George was recording the soundtrack to the film 'Wonderwall.' To do this, he went to EMI studios in India and had local musicians record the score to the film. He had them record several ragas, for use as a Beatle song. Those he ended up using was known as The Inner Light, and was later released as the B-side to the Lady Madonna single. Work began around 10:00 AM and ended around 7:00 PM. Although the musicians on the track are not known, they most likely are Ashish Khan (sarod), Mahapurish Misra (tabla and pakavaj), Sharad Jadev (shanhai), Hanuman Jadev (shanhai), Shambu-Das (sitar), Indril Bhattacharya (sitar), Shankar Ghosh (sitar), Chandra Shakher (sur-bahar), Shiv Kumar Sharmar (santorr), S R Kenkare (flute), Hari Prasad Chaurasia (fute), Vinayak Vohra (taar shehnai) and Rijam Desad (dholak, harmonium, and tabla-tarang).
