On this date, the first EMI recording session for The Beatles outside of England took place. A West German branch of EMI, Odeon, convinced Brian Epstein and George Martin to have The Beatles record their singles in German. So they went into Paris' Pathe Marconi Studios to record I Want To Hold Your Hand and She Loves You, their two biggest hits. Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand (I Want To Hold Your Hand) was recorded first, in eleven takes. With that recording, they recorded new vocals over the original rhythm track. Sie Liebt Dich (She Loves You) was next. Unlike I Want To Hold Your Hand, the two track tape didn't exist anymore, so a completely new version of the song was recorded in thirteen takes. They also recorded the first four takes of the basic track of Can't Buy Me Love, a new song.
