Short description Recording and Mixing Session. Songs Recorded: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, and Cry Baby Cry. Songs Mixed: Revolution and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.
Location Abbey Road Studios
John and Paul, who had gotten tape copies of the songs Revolution and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da and listened to them extensively over the weekend, must have decided that they were not good enough in their current form. So from 3:30 to 8:00 PM, two new mono mixes were made of Revolution, while Paul overdubbed a new lead vocal onto Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, then mixing it into mono. From 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM, The Beatles rehearsed Cry Baby Cry, filling four, thirty-minute, tapes with unnumbred and unusable takes.
