Short description Recording Session. Songs Recorded: Cry Baby Cry.
Location Abbey Road Studios

Today, Cry Baby Cry was worked on. Ten takes were recorded from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. After that, a reduction mix was made, making Take 10 into Take 12. From 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM, John overdubbed piano and George Martin overdubbed harmonium. Longtime engineer Geoff Emerick, who had been assistant engineer since The Beatles came to EMI and lead engineer since the recording of Revolver, left during this session, mainly due to the tension between the band members. These sessions for The Beatles would indicate the direction which the band was going, with lost tempers and frequent swearing continuing until The Beatles' breakup in 1970.
