Short description Recording Session. Songs Recorded: Maxwell's Silver Hammer.
Location Abbey Road Studios

This 2:30 to 10:15 PM session saw the recording of Maxwell's Silver Hammer, a song almost recorded for the album The Beatles in October 1968. It was again rehearsed at the Get Back sessions in January 1969. What was unique about this session was that it was the first session with John Lennon since he had been injured in a car crash on July 1. John, by this point, was as inseperable with Yoko Ono than he would ever be, so she had to be at the session. Yoko's injuries from the car crash were much worse, and owing both to this fact and the fact that she was pregnant at the time, she needed to stay in bed. To accommodate this need, a double bed was wheeled in to Abbey Road Studios so Yoko could be there while they played. From 8:00 to 10:15, more guitar was overdubbed.
