From BeatlesWiki
A 2:30 to 9:00 PM session. First, Revolution 1 (a new title for the song previously known as Revolution) was completed with a brass overdub, a reduction mix, and a lead guitar part. The brass musicians were Derek Watkins and Freddy Clayton on trumpets, and Don Lang (of 6.5 Special fame), Rex Morris, J Power, and Bill Povey on trombones. Revolution 1 and Revolution 9 were both mixed into stereo between 10:00 PM and 3:30 AM, although both would be improved upon on June 25. John enjoyed mixing Revolution 9, mixing different images through different channels and panning the words "Number Nine" across the stereo channels in fractions of a second.
