| Location | Abbey Road Studios |
A 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM session in Studio Three of Abbey Road Studios. To begin this session, sixteen members of the Mike Sammes singers, eight male and eight female, recorded their vocal overdubs for I Am The Walrus. This lasted from 7:00 to around 10:00 PM. These experienced singers were asked to sing strange lines, such as "Ho-ho-ho, hee-hee-hee, ha-ha-ha", "Oompah, oompah, stick it up you jumper!", "Got one, got one, everybody's got one", and to make shrill whooping noises for overdub onto Take 25, a combination of Take 20 and the orchestra overdubs. The female singers' names were Peggie Allen, Wendy Horan, Pat Whitmore, Jill Utting, June Day, Sylvia King, Irene King, and G. Mallen. The male vocalists' names were Fred Lucas, Mike Redway, John O'Neill, F. Dachtler, Allan Grant, D. Griffiths, J. Smith, and J. Fraser. This overdub was originally scheduled for September 15, but no session ended up taking place on that date. Sometime before the end of the session, Paul added another vocal onto The Fool On The Hill. The recording was then mixed into mono.
