From BeatlesWiki
She Loves You, the song composed in Newcastle-upon-Tyne the Wednesday before soon to be The Beatles' first million-selling single, was recorded along with
I'll Get You, the B-Side then under the working title
Get You In The End. The session was arranged for 2:30 to 5:30 PM, but instead lasted from 5:00 to 10:45 PM. EMI does not have the number of takes required to complete the two songs documented. She Loves You would be issued by EMI in the UK on
August 23. The single surpassed the 500,000 copy mark on
September 3 and the 1,000,000 copy mark on
November 27. The single also was number one for two seperate spells, which is rare. At first, it was number one for four weeks, then it spent another seven in the top three, and returned to number one for two more weeks.
