The compilation double-album Rock 'N' Roll Music was released in the UK on Parlophone. Capitol Records and Parlophone would make the album one of their largest promotion campaigns. Despite this, the album was criticized by both The Beatles and the public as being "cheap-looking." The album was mainly criticized for having 1950's imagery, such as cars from the era, while The Beatles were a 1960's band. Capitol rereleased the album as two seperately-bought discs with different artowrk in 1980.
