Please note this article is only an example of what a song article might look like ... it is neither complete nor accurate ...
We also probably need more sections in this article ... we need to talk about the duration, the meaning of the song, it's place within the Abbey Road medleys, etc ...

This song is the 13th song on the Abbey Road CD. On the LP, it's the 7th song of Side 2.
Recording
Although this song was rehearsed several times during the January 1969 Get Back sessions, it was not before July 1969 that the song was properly recorded.
On July 25, 1969, the song was recorded in 39 takes (only 11 takes were complete, the others were either false starts or breakdowns). The last take received overdubs (bass, drums, vocals). It should be noted that the song was recorded as a medley: Polythene Pam was immediately followed by She Came In Through The Bathroom Window.
On July 28, 1969, Take 39 of these two songs received more overdubs (vocals, guitars, pianos, tambourine, percussions) and Take 40, a reduction mixdown of Take 39 was produced.
On July 30, 1969, Take 40 received more overdubs (vocals, percussions, guitars) and two stereo mixes were produced. 13 other stereo mixes (numbered RS20-32) were produced on August 14, 1969 (only 7 were complete). Then, some more editing occured to join Mean Mister Mustard with Polythene Pam.
Of all these takes and mixes, only one has surfaced for now.
For Joe Cocker's cover of the song, it is rumoured that Paul (?) and George (?) recorded demo(s) of the song with/for Joe Cocker [1]. None of these demos have appeared yet.
