Contents

A

Across The Universe

Bird sounds from Across the Universe were used in the mix of Because.

All You Need Is Love

The first time any of All You Need Is Love can be heard on the album is during the intro of the mix of Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!/I Want You (She's So Heavy)/Helter Skelter, when a drum roll from the intro of All You Need Is Love is heard. A full mix of All You Need Is Love is the final track of the album. The song is not much different until the outro, which features a slowed-down version of the guitar riff from Ticket To Ride and vocal overdubs from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Rain. After the song fades out, an orchestral section from Good Night is played while a section of The Beatles' Third Christmas Record is played which features The Beatles saying goodbye.

And I Love Her

Some guitare was used in the iTunes bonus track Girl.

B

Baby, You're A Rich Man

A portion of the clavioline overdub from Baby, You're A Rich Man was included in the chorus of the mix of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.

Back In The U.S.S.R.

The earliest appearance of Back In The U.S.S.R. is at the end of the mix of Revolution, when the drum part is included to set up the transition into the full mix of Back In The U.S.S.R.. The mix of Back In The U.S.S.R. is largely unchanged. The few changes to the song are that it is shortened and that the plane sounds are mostly cut from the mix.

The Beatles' Third Christmas Record

A section of The Beatles' Third Christmas Record was included at the very end of the album in the All You Need Is Love mix. This section features The Beatles saying goodbye and is played over a section of the orchestra overdub from Good Night.

Because

The vocal track from Because as previously released on Anthology 3 has a mix on LOVE. Also in this mix are bird sounds from the WWF version of Across the Universe and a newly-recorded sound of a Wood Pigeon, one of two newly-recorded sounds for the album. Towards the end of the mix, the reversed final chord of A Day In The Life is used. The bass line was used in the intro to the iTunes bonus track Fool On The Hill.

Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!

Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!/I Want You (She's So Heavy)/Helter Skelter is mostly comprised of the song Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!, though it has a long outro featuring the guitar, bass, drums, wind sounds, and organ from I Want You (She's So Heavy) and vocal overdubs from Helter Skelter. In addition, the very beginning of the song features a drum roll from All You Need Is Love. The drum roll was used in the iTunes bonus track Girl.

Blackbird

A short segment of Blackbird, part of the acoustic guitar and tap shoes track, was included in the intro of the Blackbird/Yesterday mix.

Blue Jay Way

An instrumental mix of Blue Jay Way is featured as the transition in the mix Something/Blue Jay Way. During the Blue Jay Way section of the mix, it also featured part of the vocal track from Nowhere Man, laughing and shouting from the outro of Hey Bulldog, and it is speculated that sounds from the famed unreleased Beatles track Carnival Of Light were used.

C

Carnival Of Light

There is speculation that sounds from the legendary unreleased Beatles track Carnival Of Light were used in the Blue Jay Way transition of the track Something/Blue Jay Way. However, since few people have heard the track, it cannot be known for sure. It is highly unlikely, though, that George Martin would include the track on the album. It is a well-known fact among Beatles fans that Martin was never fond of the highly experimental piece.

Come Together

A mix of Come Together is the nineteenth track on the album. The song is largely unchanged until the outro, when the outro of Dear Prudence is layered on top of the fadeout of Come Together. This then fades into the Can You Take Me Back? section of Cry Baby Cry. Included in the Can You Take Me Back section are wind sounds, probably from I Want You (She's So Heavy), piano from A Day In The Life, drums and maracas from Come Together, and strings from Eleanor Rigby. At the very end of the song, there is a drum sound from Revolution repeated before the album transitions to Revolution, the next track.

Cry Baby Cry

Cry Baby Cry, and more specifically Can You Take Me Back?, is featured in the outro of Come Together/Dear Prudence/Cry Baby Cry. During this outro, there is also wind sounds presumably from I Want You (She's So Heavy), piano from A Day In The Life, drums and maracas from Come Together, and strings from Eleanor Rigby.

D

A Day In The Life

The final piano chord is played (albeit reversed) towards the end of the mix of Because. Part of the string crescendo was used in the mix of Get Back during the intro and the solo. Piano from A Day In The Life was featured in the Can You Take Me Back? section of Come Together/Dear Prudence/Cry Baby Cry. A full mix of A Day In The Life is the twenty-third track of the album. This mix does not contain parts of other songs. Instead, it has studio dialog from Take 1 of the song, including some cut from the Anthology 2 album, and features the unused "Sugar Plum Fairy" intro. The mix has the clean intro without the audience sounds and does not feature the chatter at the end of the song as used on UK pressings of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Dear Prudence

The outro from Dear Prudence is layered on top of the fadeout from Come Together on the mix of Come Together/Dear Prudence/Cry Baby Cry.

Drive My Car

The mix of Drive My Car/What You're Doing/The Word begins with the fading out of the crowd sounds from the previous track, I Want To Hold Your Hand. During the mix, piano and guitar parts from The Word play in the background and horns from Savoy Truffle play during the chorus. The solo from Drive My Car is partially replaced by the solo from Taxman and backing vocals from Helter Skelter are played in the background of that. After the solo, the song transitions to What You're Doing.

E

The End

Ringo's drum solo from The End was part of the intro of Get Back.

The first piece of Eleanor Rigby heard on the album was during the outro of Glass Onion, when a short, heavily echoed piece of the vocal track was included. This then transitions into a mix of Eleanor Rigby/Julia, which, as the title suggests, features the acoustic guitar part from Julia towards the end of the track. In addition, the swarmandal overdubs from Strawberry Fields Forever with heavy reverse echo and string sections from I Am The Walrus were included in the outro. Strings from Eleanor Rigby appear again much later on the album during the Can You Take Me Back? section of Come Together/Dear Prudence/Cry Baby Cry.

According to USA Today, it also features percussion from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise).
