Short description A previously unheard mix of Take 20 of Revolution 1 surfaces.
Location

A rough mix of Revolution 1, lasting over ten minutes, surfaced on the internet, showing how the outro of the song later evolved into Revolution 9. The mix, RM1 of Take 20 was recorded on June 4, 1968 and taken home by John Lennon after the session. In the beginning of the mix, the studio engineer tries to announce the take, saying "Take..." and then pausing. John then adds in "off your knickers and let's go." The first four minutes of the song are very similar to the released version on The Beatles, except for a few alternate guitar overdubs and the lack of the electric guitar part during the intro. There were also more effects that didn't make th final version, such as George Harrison singing "Mama, Dada, Mama, Dada." After the album version would fade out, there was still a few minutes of outro, which had many clips that later were included on Revolution 9. However, it lacked some of the other effects later overdubbed by Lennon. The mix had been available for a couple days previous, albeit with a Yoko Ono voice-over going through the whole track. The mix surfaced on February 24 is of much better quality and has no voice-over.
