Short description The Beatles fly to France to begin a series of concerts there.
Location

The Beatles fly to France to begin a series of concerts there. They would perform eighteen concerts with Trini Lopez and Sylvie Vartan. Also performing were French acrobats and mimes. The French press was not impressed by the band, calling them "juvenile delinquent has-beens." The Daily Mail reported, "If Paris and The Beatles are going to have an affair; then it’s getting off to a very slow start… Beatlemania is, like Britain’s entry into the Common Market, a problem that the French prefer to put off for a while." It was during this time when George picked up a copy of Bob Dylan's "The Freewheelin'" album. John remembers first hearing it during this tour. He listened to it throughout the weeks that he was there "we didn’t stop playing it. We all went potty on Dylan." ALso during this trip, The Beatles met Trini Lopez's manager, Nat Weiss, who concluded a deal to play at Carnegie Hall, offered to them in 1963 by Sid Bernstein.
