Short description The Beatles are interviewed for North-East Newsview.
Location Stockton-on-Tees
The Beatles were in Stockton-on-Tees for a concert at the Globe Cinema. The last time The Beatles were in Stockton, United States president John F. Kennedy was assassinated. This time, The Beatles had yet again landed in the middle of a major political event; the General Election in the UK. This would end in the Labor Party winning, headed by Harold Wilson, returning to office after thirteen years of Conservative rule. The Beatles were interviewed in their hotel rooms on this date by an interviewer and camera crew from the ITV station Tyne Tees, who asked, among other subjects, about The Beatles' voting intentions. This was broadcast the next day on the newsmagazine program North-East Newsview from 6:35 to 7:00 PM.
