This newsreel footage by the BBC of awards ceremonies for top "Show Business Personalities of 1963" was narrated by Peter Haigh, the master of ceremonies. A Variety Club luncheon award show, it celebrated the British talent of the day, including Julie Christie, Sean Connery, Maggie Smith, Patrick Macnee, Honor Blackman, Wilfrid Brambell (also then playing Paul's grandfather in the movie they were making at the same time, A Hard Day's Night), and Margaret Rutherford. They also meet Harold Wilson (referred to in the song "Taxman"), the Labour Party leader who presents them the award. After the ceremony and as the Beatles exit the room, a female screams through the doorway as she sees the Beatles, causing laughter in the crowd..
